The specialist press indicates that the lack of parts that result from disturbances in Japanese factories following the earthquake of 11th March could result in a reduction of approximately 30% of world production of vehicles.
"Japan is one of the largest producers of automotive batteries and electronics and some parts and systems are made solely in Japan. As a result, we expect to see some disruption in many parts of the world including the US, China and Europe", reports Anil Sharma, Senior Research Analyst at IHS Automotive.
Obviously, as soon as disruption issues are settled, all production units will have to compensate for the delay by producing at full capacity.
It's time for anticipating!
Optimize the operational availability and thus the by taking advantage of disruption to carry out preventive maintenance and upkeep!
The future work load may not allow for the scheduled shutdowns for maintenance during summer holidays.
REP proposes to step in now.
