FAQ
In the HSR process, the rubber is subjected to a series of high levels of shear and extensional stressing that provides an efficient way of selectively breaking cross-linking bonds.
This processed rubber can be reintegrated into the original rubber formulation.
Apart from silicone rubber, all rubbers materials can be treated with different degrees of success. Contact us to make a test with your materials.
Although this is not obligatory, some small changes to the formulation will help to compensate the losses on the curing and plasticization systems of the regenerated material.
This question expresses a concern that the repeated use of the same rubber might degrade the quality of the product. This risk is almost non-existent.
In the table below we can see the composition of different rubber batches that are using 20% (or 20 kg in this case) of regenerated rubber.
As we can see, and assuming a homogeneous mix, the quantity of rubber that comes from the first original batch will go down quickly. The first batch with regenerated material will have 20 kg, the second batch will have 4 kg, the third batch will have only 800 g and for the sixth batch we will have around 10 grams of the rubber from the original batch.

The answer to this question depends on the production hours per year, the price per kg of the rubber formulation, the cost of disposal of waste rubber, and other different aspects.
On average we can say that the cost of HSR regenerated rubber is between 1.3 and 1.8 €/kg. In most of cases we can see monetary savings from the first year of use.
